About Us!

tooth and nail
***adv. With every available resource; with unrelenting effort.

That definition describes the attitude Tooth & Nail brings to their music.
In the barren landscape of today's rock music, Tooth & Nail stands alone.
Trends or fads are not their way. Conviction for the music they love and play is something this band takes very seriously. "Music is who we are." says bassist Mark Bock. "We've all been playing music since our early teens." Adding, "it's so deep in our blood, there's no way, we'll go down without a fight…Fighting Tooth & Nail all the way!"

"Original, melodic, memorable, fun rock'n' roll…with a twist!" is how vocalist Kevin Garvey describes Tooth & Nail's music. And that twist is what makes their music so unique. "Our musical canvas is so large and colorful." He says, "the other three guys are more musically influenced by late 70's-early 80's British, classical influenced metal like UFO, MSG, Ozzy and Scorpions and I'm more into bands like The Beatles, Cheap Trick and 80's rock like Dokken, Bon Jovi & Warrant." Kevin adds, "It makes for a very interesting, unique sound…Hard edged music with attitude, "stick in your head" hooks, melody, harmonies and a touch of class".
"We kind of go for the throat…then kiss it!" he says grinning.

Not only does their music have a twist but so does the way Tooth & Nail came together.
Ron explains, "Mark, Steve and I have played together, off and on, since high school and in late 1997, we were looking for a new vocalist. I called Kevin's music paper ad, he came over to audition and from the very first song, we knew we had our man." Kevin goes on to explain, "I had recently moved to San Diego from New York City and I was sort of in a "been there, done that" kind of mentality about the whole metal scene. Because I had been signed, played in Japan, all over the U.S. and felt it was time for something new…My song writing is now more pop orientated." Adding, "But when I heard these guys, I was just blown away. I had to stay…I just knew I had found something special."

And something special they are. Combining"the best of both worlds", hard driving bass and drums, blazing guitars and soulful, melodic vocal hooks Tooth & Nail seemed poised for success. "We're all waiting for the bus!" Steve says enthusiastically.
The wait may not be very long for this hard rock quartet. With the changing tide of today's music scene and the emergence of hard rock once again, Tooth & Nail may be at the forefront of tomorrows rock revolution.
